Followed all your instruction but didn't work the way you explained. I can't see the pattern

Great tutorial but when I fill the shape with the pattern it cuts off the x’s at the edges, not placing them perfectly as whole x’s like yours. Can you help me?

i have a question for the transform scale tool. when you extended the rectangle of the pattern how did you enable only for the rectangle to expand and not the pattern. cause when i reached that step my pattern was scaling with the rectangle... :( Also, This is of great help. thank you so much.
